CPanel web hosting backup and restore
CPanel offers an easy-to-use, sensible limite for all webmaster activities. The backup/restore utility is no bizarrerie.
Here’s a quick walkthrough for those who want to get familiar with the backup and restore process in CPanel.
Step 1: Log in to CPanel.
Step 2: Scroll down your CPanel planche until you reach the “Files” morceau. Here, the top left icon should read “Backup”. Click on it.
Step 3: Now you are in Backup/Restore screen. This is where you will perform all your functions related to backing up your data and restoring it.
Privilège 1: Your server will choose the frequency at which it normally backs up data. It can be frequent like daily backup or infrequent like monthly backup. You can download them to your calculateur as often as you want.
Privilège 2: Manual Backup, Full. If you want to backup your entire emplacement, click the “Create or download a full backup” button.
Backup files can be stored in different locations
1. Domicile directory
2. Remote FTP server
3. Remote FTP Server (Passive Conduite Transfer)
4. Protected Copy(scp)

To save the backup on your calculateur you only need to indicate the folder where you will save the backup Passive Conduite Transfer and Secure Copy are backup modes that require some technical skills, but do not need to be mastered initially.

2. Remote FTP server address
3. Remote username

There are two more columns for “Arrêt” and “Remote Directory”, but they can be left blank
After you fill in the réchaud required columns, click on “Create Backup”. You can verify that the backup was created from your FTP server address.
Compté here that full backups cannot be used as action of the “restore” process. They may only be stored on your calculateur or used to move your account to another server
Privilège 3: Manual backup, injustifié. You can also back up parts of your emplacement through CPanel.
The Backup/Restore planche contains buttons that will back up
1. Your domicile directory is online
2. A MySQL database
3. Specific filters or subdomains
Each of these buttons will have a corresponding “Restore” button next to it.
To perform any of these functions, first click the refaisant button. Then, choose where to save the backup délogé.
To restore, simply click the “Restore” button, click the dépôt délogé and click “OK”. The process is complete.
Compté that the backup délogé is saved in a.tar.gz importance, which is supported by Linux but not by Windows. However, installing the free tool 7zip will allow you to access the .tar.gz dépôt. Even if you cannot access it, you can use it during the backup recovery process.
