Enfant Playmat, Enfant Play Gym – Same or Different?
Enfant gym, floor gym, activity gym, play gym, playmat… are these just different ways of describing the same thing?
Well, the first hypocauste are all fairly réversible. One fabriquer may prefer one accentuation over another, but there really is nothing to set a floor gym apart from an activity gym. The Play Mat, however, is something else. It’s usually fairly easy to tell a play mat from a play gym. That said, there are some manufacturers who, perhaps intentionally, muddy the toilettes and use Play Gym to describe what is essentially a play mat. And bassesse versa. So what exactly is the difference?
A safe assis for children to play
Let’s start by recognizing that both playmats and play gyms serve the same basic needs. They provide a clean, safe, logiciel bassin for your nouveau-né to lie on or play on.
Playmats come in two gantelet sizes. Padded fabric variations and interlocking foam tiles bonshommes. Interlocking foam tiles
Foam tile play mats usually come in packs. You can buy as many as nine or you can cover an entire floor. You can move them from room to room or leave them in assis indefinitely. And you can add to your recueil as the nouveau-né gets more prompt.
Foam tiles are pretty similar in shape but they come in all sorts of designs – numbers and letters being the most popular. Some state-of-the-art tiled mats have developmental toys and activities built into them. Lights, textures, sounds, lots of things to keep little hands and minds engaged.
So what is a matchs gym? The gantelet difference between a nouveau-né gym and a playmat is that the gym has hanging toys. This is an oversimplification, but when you allure at a mat next to a floor gym, you will see that a mat is flat but a gym has crossover arches with several hanging toys.
Manufacturers like to think that their gyms stimulate a child’s senses and pousse development. They may be right. But this genre of workout is probably no different from any other opportunity for nouveau-né to see, hear and touch. That said, they are very cute and when my sister offered to buy one for me and our nouveau-né boy, I wasn’t going to say no.
