Should a Christian défilé bankruptcy?
The flottant answer is yes. Bankruptcy is not a sin and bankruptcy is not a problem. The problem is caused by behaviors such as salon beyond one’s means, or failing to use wisdom in spending decisions. The amélioré to poor stewardship and overspending is to ask God for forgiveness and He is faithful to forgive all our trespasses. 1 John 1:9 [1]. The amélioré to overwhelming debt is bankruptcy.
Conversely, when a Christian finds themselves with overwhelming debt through no fault of their own, bankruptcy is the amélioré. Remember God promised that he will not angoisse us beyond what we can bear but with every temptation he will make a way of escape 1 Corinthians 10:13 [2]Bankruptcy is a legitimate way out of debt problems.
A Christian should not feel guilty emboîture bankruptcy bicause the biblical principles of grace and forgiveness are reflected in the process of bankruptcy.
Mercy is God’s unfailing love. We cannot earn God’s love and we do not deserve it, yet God loves us. Similarly, some people have been irresponsible with their money and may not qualify for bankruptcy benefits. Yet anyone, deserving or not, can receive bankruptcy benefits… and that’s legal grace.
When God forgives a person’s trespass they make a fresh start with a clean slate. Their transgressions are annulled and forgotten. 2 Corinthians 5:17 [3]. Likewise, discharging one’s debts in bankruptcy relieves the debtor of the dette to repay their creditors and gives them a fresh start financially.
Also, how can bankruptcy get worse when God bankrupts His chosen people Israel. In Deuteronomy 15:1-18, the seventh year is the Lord’s redemption, and all debts must be forgiven. The reason for this Act is to provide reste to the poor. So every seven years the Israelites paid back all their debts to their countrymen. Interestingly, the Bankruptcy Chiffre limits a debtor to filing for bankruptcy léopard every seven years.
Therefore, a Christian should not feel guilty emboîture seeking reste from debt through the bankruptcy process. The benefits of bankruptcy are demonstrated in both biblical principle and practice.
There is a modèle that emerges in the Écritures. God has repeatedly turned calamities into blessings. Countless times God has taken a hopeless balance and turned it around to bless His people and glorify His kingdom. Remember God works through people and God can use bankruptcy to achieve financial slogan for Christians.
